Playing Descent online is quite easy.
Once you've bought the game and installed it, simply follow these steps to find
some ships to destroy.
Patch
- Download 1.x to 1.2 patch
- Apply the 1.2 patch
- Download D2X-Rebirth
- Install it according to the instructions within
Get Missions
- Go to our D2 missions section
- Download the missions pack and extract the contents to your
c:\games\d2x-rebirth_vx.xx.x-win\missions
directory
Find Games
Option 1: Tracker
- Visit the Tracker
and bookmark it to find a game
- Click an active game
- Check the settings on the page and click "Join Game"
- You can also start your own game by firing up Rebirth and going to "Host Game"
under UDP
Option 2: Kali
- Download Kali (only
$10 for a lifetime license)
- Install it
- Run it
- Right-click in the Game window and click "Add New Game..."
- Choose "Descent" and click "Ok"
- Browse for the c:\games\d2x-rebirth_vx.xx.x-win\d1x-rebirth-gl.exe
- Click Ok
- Ask someone in Kali chat for game
- Either host the game yourself or ask them to host it but make sure you're both
using the same game version and mission
