Descent is a legendary FPS PC game released in 1995.  Destroy enemy ships with innovative weaponry, barrel-roll your way past enemy bots with 360 degrees of motion, and hold on for the ride of your life.  Descent 2 was released in 1996 featuring more levels, new weapons, and an afterburner!  Descent 3, the final game in the series, was released in 1999. Featuring true 3D rendering, new ships, and new weapons, it is arguably the most action-packed of the three.  Play all three in single player for a good story or play them online for free. All you need is a computer, the game, and Internet access. And yes, this series is still actively played online!

2012 Descent on WiiWare has an updated release date of... 2012. Interplay has settled some legal issues with Bethesda so lets hope they are able to regroup and publish some of our favorite titles again.

Introducing Infernal Cavern (D2) It's 2012 and Descent level authors are still cranking them out!  Darkflamewolf just wrapped up development on a snazzy looking D2 level called "Infernal Cavern."  Check out the DBB post for more information. Download

War Grid Released Over on the DBB, Sapphire Wolf just announced the release of a new D2 multiplayer level called "War Grid."  Just in time for Christmas! "Slightly inspired by an old Descent 2 level, Areneon as well as the movie, Tron. The level is mostly all wireframe grid textures, I put alot of heart and effort to make this level different from Areneon as of terms of cyber archetecture and such. The normal blue grid area consists of a small water area, the red of course is fire, Ice Blue grid area is the Ice-ish area, and the green area is the generic grid area. This level is good for like 3 on 3 CTF or 2 on 2 CTF (slightly recommended) or whatever. Took me several hours to complete this level. Anyways, What are you waiting for? Get this level!
